The real estate industry is very inviting, just think of the opportunities and hefty income that you can get if done right. On the other hand, people tend to have difficulty deciding if they are going to jump in or not. Entering this industry is not easy for the reason that aside from the things that one needs to know or familiarize, having the right mind-set is definitely should be the main priority.
In this article, I will be sharing my thoughts, mindset, and experience as I go through the real estate investing journey. Having a proper mindset is I think very important especially if you want to succeed in life in this competitive industry.
Is This What I Want to Do?
I remember during college days, I was on the boat lonesome when there’s this beaming light that came down to me that asked me the question: “Is this what you want to do with your life?” Interestingly, I don’t know if it was God, not get into religion or spiritual or higher being or whatever it was, but my answer was NO.
At that point, I was drifting into average land and I still had businesses that were going on but I was just wasn’t all in and since I had that question that was the time when I made the complete shift to real self-improvement, focusing all in on the business side because I would say I am an aggressive nature, so when I do something, I do it and I’m on it.
It means that if you really want something, you have to work hard on it and put your 100% dedication and attention. If you are focused, it is easier for you to make a decision.
How Do I Improve Myself?
I believe that self-development had played a very significant role in my real estate journey. The first step I made is I completely cut my vices and detached myself from some of my friends at that time because I want to go all in.
I want to make sure that I have the right knowledge and information that can help me as I embark on this new journey. This was the time that I came across Earl Nightingale CD’s wherein he talked about building courage, persistence, and secrets which we become what we think about. I never really talked about those things prior to that.
It was the time that my whole viewpoint changed in which education never stops even after your school years. Every person needs to realize that over the years, continuous improvement on skills and knowledge matters. I never stopped learning and even today, I still make sure that I will be able to enhance my capabilities and other skills. Investing in yourself is I think the best way on how you can be able to become the best version of yourself.
How Can I Work ON vs. IN the Business?
In this industry, you cannot take all the bullets as you’ll surely end up losing your focus and attention. You can always delegate other low value tasks to others if you don’t want to lose your concentration in doing high-value tasks. Doing this has given me the freedom to do other tasks that are more essential in improving the business.
Don’t Need to Have a College Degree or Master’s Degree
Well, maybe it was just me. I think that you can still do it in this world without completing a college or having that Master’s degree just to succeed in life. I did not complete college, I dropped out and now I am now a full-time on my business. I think for me, as long as you have the skills, mindset and determination then you can do it. Though, don’t get me wrong, I am not encouraging people to also discontinue their education and start on business.

Though everyone of us do have different beliefs, skills and viewpoint, having the right mindset is definitely the key on how you can achieve what you want in your life.
